Cameroon

THE CONTEXT

Realizing the need to leverage new technologies to facilitate health systems planning and decision-making, Cameroon has developed a National Digital Health Strategic Plan, 2020– 2024. Vital Strategies’ Data Impact Program has been working with our partners in Cameroon since 2020 to expand the use of available data into actionable evidence to support disease surveillance and public health policymaking.

Colombia

THE CONTEXT

Through the adoption of new strategies and technologies, Colombia has created one of the most complete civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems in Latin America. Vital Strategies’ Data Impact Program has been working with our partners in Colombia since 2017 to expand the use of those data to enhance public health policymaking.

India

THE CONTEXT

The Data Impact program has been delivering essential technical assistance to the urban government of Mumbai and the state government of Maharashtra. While the program focused on epidemiological surveillance and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) verticals in the earlier phases, the last phase from Apr 2021-Mar 2023 has seen the expansion of analytical support to include, inter-alia, non-communicable diseases, management information systems, and family welfare- maternal and child health departments. The program continues to provide support to the CRVS vertical, ensuring a gender-lens is incorporated in all analyses.

Sri Lanka

THE CONTEXT

The Data Impact team has been working with the Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka since 2016. In an effort to institutionalize data use processes, the Ministry of Health focused on strengthening the noncommunicable disease (NCD) policymaking process through an analysis and review of the most recent national strategy, implementation of the Data to Policy Program, and development of digital tools to guide public health decision-making.
